“You need to experience this to really know what Yin Yoga is all about. After you have experienced it, even just once, you will realize that you have been doing only half of the asana practice.”

Friday 18th October
at DW, St.Brelades

I will be teaching a YIN yoga session using the studio at DW, St.Brelades Bay.

Yin Yoga utilises poses practiced on the floor and held gently for time, usually 3-5 minutes each in order to modestly, within limits, stimulate ligaments and fascia through traction and compression of joint tissue to encourage tissue regeneration.
YIN cultivates balance. Many of us are living a very active (yang) lifestyle and it is SO important to slow down, activate the parasympathetic nervous system.
YIN teaches us to surrender, accept, and let go. You will stretch and lengthen muscles and open up tired joints, creating a feeling of space and openness within the body.
To practice YIN is to relinquish control. It is a practice in stillness, patience, and non-reactivity. A chance to turn inward, to listen and to get to know ourselves from the inside out.

This will be a perfect ending to a busy week!

This workshop is open to all levels, both men and women. Beginners are very welcome.
Please note you do NOT have to be a member of DW club to attend. I am hiring the studio space and these sessions are offered to all - members or non members.
90 minutes of YIN beginning at 6.30pm, finishing promptly at 8.00pm when the the club will close.
There are mats in the studio but you are welcome to bring your own.
Bolsters and blocks will be provided.
I highly recommend bringing a wrap/blanket for use in Savasana.
Booking essential!
